Why Peer Pilots Support System?
Safe
We create a secure and trusted environment where pilots can share concerns without fear. Our procedures and digital infrastructure are designed to protect every interaction, ensuring psychological and operational safety.
Confidential
All our employees are bound by moral and legal obligations to pilots regarding non-disclosure of data. This is the basis of our work and is embedded in the NDA (non disclosing agreement) signed.
Support & Care
Our team is dedicated to offering empathetic, professional support tailored to each pilot’s needs. We listen without judgment and act with compassion - because real care begins with understanding and trust.
Purpose of talking to a Peer
The fundamental purpose of a peer support programme (PPSS) is to enable prevention and early detection of pilots issues (for example: daily life issues, post incident trauma, substance and alcohol abuse, performance related issues, mental health conditions and other), and to provide appropriate advice and support to the concerned pilot, including the facilitation of treatment where needed. The aim is either to keep the pilot flying, or to enable the pilot to return into service as quickly as possible.
Daily life issues
Daily struggles like relationship issues, financial pressure, and similar challenges can deeply impact a person's mental health and overall well-being, potentially affecting their work performance and safety.
Post-incident trauma
Encountering or observing a critical incident may cause emotional and psychological distress. Early intervention through support programs is crucial for recovery and maintaining safe performance.
Substance and alcohol abuse
Challenges with alcohol or substance misuse can harm personal health and professional duties. Timely intervention and support are vital for recovery and ensuring a safe workplace.
Performance-related issues
Job performance challenges may arise from stress, fatigue, or personal issues. Offering support enables individuals to pinpoint underlying causes and pursue effective solutions, improving safety and productivity.
Mental health conditions
Unaddressed or undiagnosed mental health conditions like anxiety and depression can hinder judgment, focus, and overall performance. Peer support offers a safe, confidential environment to seek assistance and access suitable resources.
Workplace conflict or bullying
Workplace conflicts or bullying can cause stress, lower morale, and reduced performance. Peer support helps address these issues, fostering a healthier work environment.
